This is a stunning piece of the Victorian era. This fly is made from ___kt rose gold, and measures 41 mm for the wingspan (1 and 9/16 inches) by 25 mm in length (1 inch). The piece is comprised of 6 small diamonds on the wings (approximately 2 mm each) and two rubies for eyes (also approximately 2 mm each). The wings are futher enhanced by fine metal work and small accents of black enamel. The body of the fly has been made of a large gold ball for the main portion of the body, with the bottom portion being comprised of a 6 mm diameter pearl. The piece attached with a horizontal french sliding clasp. A very unique piece.
