Two Faces and a Mask Shell Cameo
Sterling Silver Pendant/Brooch

Two Faced Shakespearean Cameo

Two Faced Shakespearean Cameo-Back

Though no specific history is known on this piece, with close inspection the shell cameo appears to contain two faces. The additional detail in the subject suggests that they are soldiers, or perhaps one soldier and the shadow of his lover. On the top of the helmets heads appears to be a mask or face of a monkey/animal. One of the men is a bearded older man and the other a younger man with a bright smile. In trying to identify this cameo, it just makes one think of a Shakespearean play and the varying characters within.

The shell cameo is mounted in a sterling silver setting, with silver covering the entire back of the piece. The beautifully designed silver front is further enhaced with a small twist of yellow gold encircling the cameo. The back is stamped "Sterling Silver 925" with an additonal stamp of the letter "A" on top of a pedestal. The piece is designed to be worn as either a pendant or a brooch. It measures 1 and 3/8 inches (35 mm) wide by 1 and 5/8 inches (43 mm) in height.
