This 50mm long x 40mm wide oval shell cameo is Italian-made and hand-carved from a conch shell. It has a brooch pin back as well as a back loop so that it is versatile for either lapel or neck wear. The carving is expertly done with fine curves and smooth deep layers. Its condition is mint, with no signs of wear. The cameo's frame is yellow gold-filled filigree with dainty leaf-accents at four points. The lovely lady depicted in the cameo is facing right with a feather-like motif to her hair and gown, hence her name.
