Carnelain Soldier Cameo Cufflinks

Manly in everyway, these large size cufflinks each contain a carnelain cameo of a bearded soldier with a helmet and plume. The soldiers also have stars on their chest plates. The cameos are deeply carved and face opposite directions as if on guard. The carnelian stones are rich in color and the cameos stand out wonderfully. The cameos are set in a unique 14 kt gold frame and have a double swivel back for attachment to the cuffs. The bar behind the cameo is hinged as well as the traditional bar which holds the cuffs together. The piece is marked "14 K US Pat. 2472938". The patent is likely for the double hinged design; however details were not available on the patent since it was issued prior to 1976. The face of each cufflink is oval and measures 9/16 inches (22 mm) by 3/4 inches (26 mm).
