Thsi brooch combines black enamel edging with beautiful diamonds and pearls, all set in 18 kt gold. Truly Victorian in style, this lovely flower brooch measures 1 and 1/4 inches (31 mm) in diameter, and 2 and 1/2 inches (65 mm) in length when including the gold tassels that hang beneath the flower. The brooch incorporates 7 3-mm diamonds in the center of the flower, surrounded by 8 smaller diamonds (1.5 - 2 mm in size). Gold pedals envelope this stunning diamond center, which is then further accented by 12 4-mm pearls - 8 softly cradled in the pedals of the flowers and 4 carefully placed within the tassels of the brooch. The black enamel work is very well done - simple edging of the flower pedals - neatly done and well preserved. A beautiful piece true to the Victorian period without showing its age.
