This Art Nouveau style brooch depicts nicely detailed gold branches and leaves decorated with 12 oval opal cabochons for berries. Each opal measures 7 mm by 4.5 mm and is nicely matched for background color, transluscence and play of color. There are also 11 diamonds (approximately 2 mm in diameter each) which glisten and dazzle like freshly fallen snowflakes. The back of the piece is also nicely decorated with vines. The piece is marked "14k" on the back, along with the initial "N". The brooch is in very good condition, with the exception of one chipped opal (center left) and crazing noted on two of the other opals - none of which detract from the beauty of the piece as worn. All of the opals are firmly set and should get years of wearing with careful handling. A beautiful gift for this holiday season.
