A 8 mm by 6 mm oval opal cabochon sits in the center of this beautiful flower. Wonderful gold work surrounds this stone and the 18 smaller (2.5 to 4 mm) cabochon opals set on the petals. Gold beads accent the ends of the petals. The piece is marked 14 kt on the back. A lovely late 1800s to early 1900s brooch measuring 1 and 5/8 inches (41 mm) by 1 and 1/4 inches (34 mm).
