A fabulously carved, deep relief princess portrait cameo in carnelian. The cameo measures 1/2 inch by 3/4 inch and is carefully set in a large size 12 kt gold ring. The cameo shows nice detail of the hair and face, as well as the intricate details of her fancy high collared bodice. The ring setting has a solid gold back with a nice curve to fit the finger. The shank is well decorated, almost like a roman column which wraps around the finger. The banding on the gold goes all the way around the shank. The ring measures 8 and 3/4 and the top of the cameo sits approximately 8.5 mm above the finger. A gorgeous and stately cameo ring.
