A very handsome ring, carved from carmel colored stone. The base is a translucent reddish brown and the carved soldier is carved in a dark red to black opaque layer. The soldier is a young man with a thin mustach. He wears a mesh vest and a helmet with a plume. The carving shows nice detail. The cameo is glue set in a 10 kt gold ring, size 7 and 1/2. The set is an older, european style, with grooved metal work on each side of the setting. There is a small chip from the shank of the ring in the back (see photo below).
