This shell cameo measures 8 mm by 12 mm and is of the Goddess Psyche, Bride of Cupid, depicted by butterfly wings in her hair. While very tiny, the cameo is well crafted with lots of detail. The cameo has a small chip in it on the right side, which is mostly hidden by the 12 kt yellow gold frame. The pin measures 65 mm in length, and is a very sentimental gift for a man to give to his special someone - in the past, a gift of a cameo depicting psyche holds great significance for the intensity of love and the granduer of "love awakening the soul" (One of the myths is that Psyche was placed into eternal sleep and Cupid awakened her with the pick of an arrow).
