Finely Detailed Soldier - Larger-sized Shell Cameo

This is a beautifully detailed and finely carved cameo of Athena, Goddess of War and Wisdom, dressed in full battle wear. She has a soldier's helmet with a half human/half leopard, and a plume. She wears armor on her chest and carries a sheild with a sunburst. If you look closely, you can see she also has on earrings and a necklace, with long flowing hair coming out from the bottom of her helmet. This shell cameo is signed on the back by the carver "JUP". The piece measures 1 and 3/4 inches, by 2 and 3/8 inches. A wonderfully piece for any collection or to be set in a fabulous brooch/pendant frame.
